On 5 June 2026, at 7:30 a.m., West Coast Engineering Co., Ltd. (WCE), together with the SSI Group and the Bang Saphan Fisheries Network, took part in the “SSI GROUP 5th Plogging — Walk & Run to Collect Waste” at the Mae Ramphueng Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), Moo 5, Mae Ramphueng, Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Held in observance of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, the activity aimed to promote environmental conservation, raise awareness of responsible waste management, and sustainably enhance the quality of the coastal community’s environment.

The event was presided over by Mr. Nimit Wongchinda, District Chief of Bang Saphan, as chairman of the opening ceremony, joined by Mr. Thaworn Rojanarat, District Fisheries Officer, and Mr. Nantachai Sukkuea, President of the Bang Saphan Fisheries Network, along with the Bang Saphan Fisheries Association, local and community leaders, government agencies, fishery group representatives, and local residents — a turnout that reflected the shared commitment of every sector to protecting coastal resources together.
Plogging combines walking and running with picking up litter along the way. Participants walked and ran together to collect waste across Mae Ramphueng Beach, covering a round-trip route of approximately 3.5 kilometres (from the Mae Ramphueng SAO office to Sailom Hotel), sorting plastic bottles, bags, and debris left along the shoreline for proper disposal.

Beyond leaving Mae Ramphueng Beach noticeably cleaner, the activity helped instill a lasting environmental conscience among young people and the wider community — a deeper awareness of how marine debris affects coastal ecosystems and the livelihoods of local fishermen. Each small action taken today becomes another meaningful step toward lasting, long-term change.
